About Us

Our Story

Founded in February 2014, Octapult Platforms was established with a focus on studying SMEs and start-ups within their unique innovation ecosystems. Our initial mandate centered on understanding collaboration, experience levels, and disruption within organizational networks. Through our research, we developed and tested specialized tools to measure and enhance these dynamics, leading to the creation of a ‘hybrid equation’ tailored to the culturally distinct teams and enterprises in Pakistan. This methodology became the foundation for driving innovation within our clients’ businesses.

Over the years, Octapult has participated in a variety of innovation-driven projects, many of which have been disruptive and occasionally supported by cutting-edge technology. Our growth has centered on providing crucial organizational building blocks for SMEs and start-ups, covering areas such as business strategy, value proposition and experience design, organizational development, project management, and experience re-engineering.

In our engagements with SMEs and start-ups, we have extensively explored collaboration through the lens of experience management. We believe that for businesses to remain competitive, they must embrace innovation as a discipline, with disruptive principles at their core and collaboration serving as the key enabler for success.

As we continue our work in human-centered change, leveraging collaboration and technology to create impactful solutions for progressive organizations, our hybrid tools and techniques—designed specifically for Pakistan’s unique cultural and behavioral context—have become increasingly effective. Our ongoing incubations within both social and commercial sectors have further refined the efficacy of our solutions.

Octapult has also pioneered the use of Lego®-based solutions in business and education, deploying these interventions to enhance collaboration and foster innovation. By indexing collaboration across organizations and educational institutions, we aim to improve 25 core behaviors that influence a business’s ability to innovate effectively.

The Genesis

Catapult as a word has Latin and greek origins. Ancient Greek word Katapelltēs. Which means to hurl something without the aid of explosive devices. Essentially, the first military innovation that helped evolve battlefields from hand-to-hand combat to indirect warfare.

Octave has it origin in Latin word Octavus, which means eighth. A perfect octave is the interval between one musical pitch and another with half or double its frequency. The octave relationship is a natural phenomenon that has been referred to as the “basic miracle of music”, the use of which is “common in most musical systems.

The Challenge: Our society often struggles with discipline and effective collaboration, which significantly impedes our ability to sustain growth and drive successful innovation. However, the lack of these collaborative behaviors, both at an individual and team level, poses a real challenge, particularly for SMEs and start-ups in our cultural context.
